Native Trees of Scotland.

Many of the trees in Scotland today are exotics. In fact currently only 2% of land in Scotland in covered by native woodland. 

Current thinking is to plant native species that provide habitat for native wildlife and our written commentary will always include a breakdown of native trees on your site.

A native tree is commonly defined as a tree species which colonised Scotland in the period after the last ice age.
